Nottingham Children’s Hospital Long Term ventilation team covers a region of the UK that provides care for approximately 500,000 children across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We work collaboratively with the single Paediatric Critical care unit, 4 major district general hospitals, three hospices and community health, education and social care services.

There is a strong relationship with the national charity Wellchild who provide funding for a nurse specialist.  The LTV & sleep team consists of two specialist nurses tasked with home discharge from hospital and community care respectively, a part time administration assistant, specialist respiratory physiotherapists, occupational therapist, play specialist and consultant paediatricians. Discharge home is facilitated through a dedicated pathway with monthly multiagency meetings. Step down arrangements to DGH’s or hospice care is established.
